We have been asked by many customers how they can sell or trade to Big Orbit Cards during the coronavirus pandemic. Most questions revolve around how they can get their trades to us. So in order to help, we have produced this guide to help our customers trade with us during this time while looking after the health of themselves anS others.

The Stay at Home advice put in place by the UK government might seem to make it difficult to get your trades to Big Orbit Cards at this time, but it is entirely possible to ship to us while maintaining social distancing and remaining within government guidelines.

Royal Mail & The Post Office

The Post Office is open and you are at liberty to use the Post Office to ship to us, but there are alternatives if you wish to use them and they will maintain social distancing, see below.

Buying Stamps From Shops & Supermarket Or Online

Many shops and most supermarkets sell stamps and if combining with a grocery shop you will not be unduly increasing your exposure to others. In shops you will usually find 1st and 2nd class letter & large letter stamps these have the following values:

1st class letter stamp (up to 100g): £0.76
1st class large letter stamp (up to 100g): £1.15
2nd class letter stamp (up to 100g): £0.65
2nd class large letter stamp (up to 100g): £0.88

It is also possible to buy stamps directly from the Post Office online.

If re-using one of the boxes that we send our orders out in, you can use a single large letter stamp if the package weighs less than 100g (you will want to use kitchen scales to weigh this).

If your package is larger and hence more expensive you can use the stamps above to meet or exceed the required postage level, the required postage can be found on the Royal Mail website.

For example if you wish to send a small parcel under 2kgs by 1st class it costs £3.58 so the cost of postage could be covered by 5 regular 1st Class letter stamps with a value of £0.76.

The disadvantage of this method is that regular 1st and 2nd Class services are not trackable, so you may not wish to send higher value trades by this method. Tracking and proof of delivery are available when buying postage online, see method below.

Posting Your Cards Using This Method

Once sufficient postage has been applied, you can simply post your trade to us using a post box which can be visited while undertaking one of the activities that are listed as permitted reasons for leaving your home, such as grocery shopping, exercise or travelling to or from work.

If your parcel is too large to go through a normal post box there are a network of parcel post boxes that can be used for parcels up to 44cm x 35cm x 16cm.

A list of the locations of the parcel post boxes can be found here: Royal Mail Parcel Post Boxes List

Booking In Mail Online

Postage can also be bought online through Royal Mail's website. The advantage of this is that Royal Mail Signed For services can be purchased using this method, so you will know when your order has been received. In order to use this facility you simply book your post in here: Buy Postage Online

To use this service you will need a printer (unless dropping off at a Royal Mail delivery office) and a set of scales, kitchen scales are good, as are any other sort that can display weight to at least the nearest 100g).

Once you are signed up you simply enter the weight of the parcel, choose the package type (based on size) and choose the service that you wish to use, then enter our address details: Big Orbit Games, Cadbury Courtyard, Blackminster Business Park, Evesham, WR11 7RE

You then make payment using PayPal or debit / credit card. If you have an issue paying using the method above you can try using Royal Mail's new beta version which doesn't use PayPal to process debit or credit card payments: Royal Mail's New Beta

Once postage is paid, a label can be printed out and stuck to the package either at home or by presenting your order details at a Royal Mail delivery office using a QR code on a smart phone.

The advantage of this method is that you will have access to the full range of Royal Mail's products including tracked and delivery confirmation services, so you may wish to send higher value trades by this method. We recommend using 1st or 2nd Class Signed For services, as these provide peace of mind - you will know that your parcel has been delivered, and you can maintain social distancing, as these can be posted through a regular post box.

Courier services are useful as they are usually fully trackable and can be a cheaper option for larger packages. To use these service you will need a printer (unless dropping off at a parcel shop that has a label printer on site) and a set of scales, kitchen scales are good as are any other sort that can display weight to at least the nearest 100g).

We recommend that you use Parcel2Go.com for booking in couriers, Parcel2Go allow you to compare and purchase services from many courier firms simply and easily. Delivery services are available from just a few pounds and even heavy packages up to several kgs can be shipped for as little as £7.

Once booked in you can drop the parcel off at a convenient parcel shop, some are in local supermarkets and so drop off can be combined with your grocery shop, many Co-Ops are also parcel shops for the courier Hermes for example. By combining drop off with a necessary trip to the shop you will again be limiting social contact in line with government guidelines.

Alternatively you can request that the courier collect from your home meaning that no unnecessary trips outside the home need to be made to ship your trade.
